The Stickarein Blade is the family blade of the Besallyn family. In Zarconus’ hand as he grows in self knowledge, the sword is growing in power as well. The Sword is legendary and when combined with Zarconus’ dragonmark, there are few who can suffer its might. The blade design itself was copied by the Council of Eagles for commission in the People’s army in the early season of 1103. Nearly one thousand copies of the gold blade were forged.

Judy explains that there is an ancient demon of fire and smoke called the Hellspark who lives in the dragon forge, an ancient curse on the old weapon. Sensing the threat, the Hellspark bursts to life as Zarconus approaches. The beast is no match for the wielder of the Stickarein blade and is put down quickly before the power of the sword and the dragonmark.
The Dragon Forge is an ancient weapon of mysterious purpose. When Judy shows it to Zarcnous it is clear that it has something to do with the dragon mark stretched and burned with destiny across Zarconus’ body. The ancient machine springs to life when the Claw of Bahamut approaches. (click to enlarge image.)

Tim Tigeon, Betrothed King of the Orcs of Thornbite!
Posted in The Shadow Road on May 24, 2009 by coyoteandthunderMslbrg, Orcish prince challenged Tim, the Sherriff of Gavin Wel Valley to the mortal combat ceremony of Naril Kwenosh. Ultimately a mating ceremony, it turns out that Mslbrg is L’gasi’s ex-betrothed and this battle was to decide who would marry L’gacy.
In Orcish tradition, the battle itself, which took place in the Barbarian Circle outside of Maiah, is the wedding. In front of an audience of many hundred men and orcs, Tim bested Mslbrg and became the Khani Ahan, the War King of Thornbite, L’gasi’s clan. Tim does not recognize the marriage and is ambivolent about L’gasi. After this perceived slight, L’gasi has left Tim and apparently traveled north out of the valley to fight the coming Blight at Femin.
the Opening of the Shadow Path
Posted in The Shadow Road on May 24, 2009 by coyoteandthunder
With ancient Alabaster Sentinels at each juncture along the now opened Shadow Path that leads from Maiah to Niskantel in the Gavin Wel Valley, the Civil War in the North Counties is effectively sated and a tentaive peace is drawn between the local people as they look north to a common enemy of greater portend.
The path itself is a real thing, wide enough for a standard wagon to pass, through an amazingly dense wilderness uniting the City of Gavin Wel with its suburbs in an unsurpassed logistical manner.
Walder in the City of Clay
Posted in The Shadow Road on May 24, 2009 by coyoteandthunder
On the outskirts of Niskantel the unholy place called Hibrenahl, a place of blight and the crypt of a vampire clan that goes back centuries. It was here that Walder and Besira located Suri, the vampire princess and slew here in her coffin. This assassination of a reputed local crime boss secured the Leader of the Mice Eyes dealing rights throughout the Northern Counties of the Valley.
Suri is the Daughter of Vampire Kings and wields a sword called AnulGrey, a sister sword to Rendgrey. A power beyond even this young vampire’s understanding. While Walder invaded her crypt it could be that the sentient sword betrayed its owner to get closer to Rendgrey, in the hands of Avari, a traveling companion to the Thief Lord.

Stunningly to Walder, his some time lover and deputy of action in the Mice Eyes organization, Besira was acting mayor to the City of Niskantel upon his arrival. the seven foot tall woman welcomed the Company of the Sherriff to the City of Clay and informed Walder of his immediate business needs and the required disposing of Suri, the Vampire princess: a nuisance in the suburbs of the City who was encroaching on Mice Eyes economic territory.
Ragyiel, the Fallen Citadel of Clouds
Posted in The Shadow Road on May 24, 2009 by coyoteandthundera vision of Ragyiel in its splendour:
Once, the City of Ragyiel was a populace center and a military fortress built by the Tielfing in a single night using an army of infernal masons to counter the might of Khepathia, the Eladrin City of Old. Now, so many thousands of years later, the place is a hallow shell home to semi-feral beasts who try to assimilate as a culture yet can not. The Gnolls of Gergehn, the Harpies of Sael Omier and the Hobgoblins of Mixtarateign all now call the ruins of Ragyiel home.

These aristocrats, here pictured are Gavin Joel, Gavin Martha and Gavin Deacon broker a deal with the Sherriff to end the war in the north and incorporate the Valley of Gavin Wel as its own entity and an independent power, to be taxed less although the COE will retain the rights to the Shadow Road.
With abundant amphoras full of Olive oil, wine and with salted meats and insences with magic herbs, each of the Heroes of the Company of the Sherriff is honorarily given the deed to an apartment in the City of Clay.
Commanders of the Khelem Jahar
Posted in The Shadow Road on May 16, 2009 by coyoteandthunderOf all the enemies, of all the prisoners, of all the deaths, the Unholy and Ancient Sword known as Rendgrey is perhaps the most worthy, terrible and noteworthy transfer of powers retrieved and told from the battle of Hammerguard. A sentient and awesomly evil weapon, the blade exists to bend will and draw blood. The Sword was taken by the Crone-waif Avari and put into here tiny box to the unbenownst perceptions of her male friends. When Rendgrey finally betrayed Faedless, the Khelem Jahar fell and power shifted in the Civil War to the end.
Most Tragic of the five commanders of the Khelem Jahar is the Elder Mother, hers’ is a long and sorrowful tale. A fallen Eladrin who had taken on early, blighted divinities to her breast. Perhaps the first Blight Mistress, the Elder Mother’s true name is lost in time. The Crone Waife, Avari believes that the unraveling of her own mystery is linked to the tale of the Elder Mother.
Isalamox is a an elder statesman of the Sorado underdark city of Kiasen Rel.
Aevarni the Black is a Eladrin who has fallen from the grace of the Eldar, as it were. She is many hundreds of years old and seethes with notions of vengeance for the fall of Khepathia.
EvenGaeKai, Pit Zombie Lord, Lord of the Worm.

Tel Omad, Feudal lord of the Council of Eagles. An Oni Duke who played the fence. With deft Technologies and deals with ancient clans of thieves and infernal races, Tel Omad held crown over the middle Valley for nearly a century. He eluded capture or death by the Sherriff of Gavin Wel Valley until the Battle at Hammerguard.
