The Unescapable Legacy
The Unescapable Legacy: ELZRIEN solo, episode 001 07.11.22
Elzrien. The Starlight Keep. Easthaven. Ten Towns, Icewind Dale. The eladrin, December—Romathira Folfel Namintaway. Azinon.
A: We have a balor on the loose; His name is Errtu; You have heard his name before; Levistus nearly summoned him successfully at Caer Dineval; Where Levistus did not succeed, the repercussions of our actions seem to have completed his fell purpose; In killing Raizzintir, a number of holes have appeared in the fabric that is the Bonasas, the draconic layer of arcane reality that binds all the worlds of space and time together; I have more to tell you, Elzrien. I suspect that I am affirming what you already know; Raizzintir ruled a kingdom, the name of which has been lost to living memory; We do know that Errtu is somewhere between worlds in Anauroch and that his is at the seat of Raizzantir’s power, therefore, the lost kingdom of the Dark Lightning is somewhere in the endless desert, a place itself caused by Auril’s Second Rime and the destruction of the Orsolnic empire; Anauroch is a desolate land of chaos magic; I can get you to Ascore, city of the Golgothi; You will find no respite there; Ascore is a most-dangerous place for you to be; your runic ward against the eyes of the Shadowfell may fail you there; You will be hunted by Errtu; And, he has spies everywhere in that wicked place; You will find answers from Beterran Tek, who makes his home, if you can call it a home at Ascore; Beterran Tek is the Shadarkai who conspired with your mother, Seldrilith, and built the memory crystal that failed to preserve your youthful memories but succeeded to activate the shadow gate to stow you safely to TorilUnon from the Shadowfell.
To Elzrien, a flask of evercool refreshment
D: Errtu, banished by the sisters of Auril, the Nonatecht to the dark cosmic corners of chaos after he assisted Auril in her campaign of vengeance against the Orsolon, my kin at Ythrin; Yes, I am that old; I feel the age of stone in my ancient bones; I sense in your future long stretches of loneliness, although we both know that you are not alone, are you; Isrananet will be a curse as much as it is a gift; it is a duty; the Isrananet is more than an object, it is a force of will meant for only the strongest king; Your fate now is wound up in it. You may be tempted to remain on your own, to think everyone is a spy, but you must trust someone, you will need help; You will face enemies larger and greater, perhaps even beyond you; your confidence in battle to overcome great odds may be your undoing.
People of Ascore that Elzrien encountered personally

Ascore, tower of the Oandalin dwarves, an ancient creed now lost

- Byrkana, golgathi druid with her halfwolf, Ookra, bequeathed a set of Coniritar game pieces
- Friend; lived in Ascore her whole life
- Imagandri, the wererat and his son, Ramli
- Keeper of the tavern
- Irafuus the oni of the waste
- Camel merchant; intimidated by Elzrien and set scurrying away
- Fire genasi
- Beterran Tek is a prisoner and a ruler; The Ameneroch; The ivory guards do not let him leave
- ELZRIENTIRCHOARSINTARTH

- 12 Orsolon spirits of the Ebon Star Wizards; kings, queens and generals of elder wars:
- The Arnigasian
- “Introduce yourself to us, lest we exile you from the Irananet. Are you a king of kings?”
- each of the eight, flying cities of the Orsolon were taken and held to the fate of Ythrin, and fell because of it;
Eight aeries forged in old Orsolon,
Mythal-raised cities of the sky,
Great castles beyond death, upon
The rising stars that never die.
- The second Rime of Auril was the ruin of the Orsolon; although not all the mythals that fueled the cities were accounted for
They tempted the Winter Maiden’s rime
And her crystal shroud rent their weaves.
The majestic palaces they called home
Dropped from the vault of sky – falling leaves.
- Some of the eight cities became the domain of the elves, including the Lossendrim, hidden within the mountain valleys at the Spine of the world
Remnants fell to the eldest kin,
Where ancient elven power nurtured
Their pure seeds to remain hidden
Near the safe heart of old nature.
- Raizzintir, or Corgamilyn, as he was known then, enchanted and betrayed the queen of Orbindal, the dreaming stone land of the Orsolon, one of the lost cities
The queen of the dreaming stone land,
Orbindal – lured by Corgamilyn
The dragon – enchanted and betrayed,
Wrapped in a dark-winged, shadow dream.
- An Orsolonic civil war spurred by the usurping of the queen erupted across the city
The fallen city fell to civil war
And a black taint rose within them,
Sharding their long remnant power
From their bright sapphire mythal gem.
- Orbindal was lost because Corgamilyn stole away with it, hidden inside his shadowed chest to the Shadowfell
Corgamilyn lurked and waited,
Filling minds with fear and darkness.
When they all succumbed to hatred,
He veiled their realm in deepest shadows.
- Across what was the land before Anauroch, The black river, Khendrigos, ran
Down, Khendrigos, the black river –
Rebuilt as a dark reflection –
The Gloom City of Ikthel Menador
Cowers from hope of redemption.
- Corgamilyn, now Raizzintir went down the river to its headwaters and founded the city again as a grim reflection of what it once was.
Corgamilyn, now Raizzintir,
Black Lightning, Dragon of Shadow,
Lurks in the Black Diamond Tower
In the fallen sands of time below.
- leads to the Tower of the Black Diamond, the heart of the Gloom city of Ikthel Menador

End: Beterran Tek, having only whispered a single, grim word to the dragonborn heir-apparent, his new name clothed in the draconic language of his dread father, Elzrientirchoarsintarth, then slumped in his throne inside his cell-like throne room. Unsure if his life may be over, but surely understanding that he was beyond mortal healing, Elzrien leaves at the beckoning of Byrkana and begins his trek into the long desert of Anauroch to stop Errtu and to claim the throne of Ikthel Menador.
