Tiki’s Speech to her people

Posted in The North on February 3, 2011 by coyoteandthunder

I am not a commander, nor your elected official. I am your Queen. It is my duty not just to lead, but to embody the principles of my people. This task is one I eschewed for decades. But now, in a time of great need I must prove my worth to you all. We need not a leader who gives us false hope or takes an easy out as our ancestors did centuries ago for damning us. We need one who faces adversity and destroys it with tiefling strength! This is a time of destruction and grieving, I know. But it’s also a time of opportunity and hope. We have the responsibility placed upon us to alter our legacy in this world, to make people trust us again. We have a blank canvas before us on which to paint a path of peace and undying strength. If we do not share these goals, if you would rather continue down the road of deception, then let you take another path, and let your name not be Mumbai. Those that follow, only this responsibility will guide us into this new age together. I know now I was destined to lead us through these difficult times, and I’m ready for the challenge before me. Are you with me? Are you with me!?

Meavoi, the Mountainfist King’s speech:

“People of the North! The elemental powers of the world have heard your cries of sorrow! I have heard your plight and we have been sent to avenge your woe. Together, let us raise blades and destroy our oppressors. Let us establish a new order of freedom for all peoples across our beautiful land! Follow me my friends! Follow me to Victory! For Hearth and Home! For The North! For Freedom!”

The Prophecy of the IO

So says Bahlia, the first Dryad of Golden Tree

The Dagger of Ama Gna and the Pan-Goat-Vessel

Ama Gna was a legendary assassin who once buried this dagger between the wings blades of IO himself. The IOkharic prophecy states “…upon ripening in the stomach of the Pan, the fruit that is the new Blood of IO can only be made manifest by the destruction of the goat. The Newcome Mountainfist king-to-be must drive the dagger of Ama Gna into the vessel’s gut and then upon the draining its contents shall the power be real. The dagger must be used on the vessel only after the Heart of Evil is summoned by the Newcome Mountainfist king-to-be…  ”

Goodbye to Jael Blackfeather

Goodbye to Jael Blackfeather

As a Deva, Jael Blackfeather lived many lifetimes longer than the average person. We all had the pleasure of knowing him during his last life on this world. In the celebration of his spirit, I will share a story about him that I’ve never told anyone before. What you all don’t know is that Jael and I met nearly 20 years ago at the Red Tower. You all read in Strom’s journals that my father, Paolo, took Jael into the Underweb to torture him and the ordeal left my father dead. Well, when he escaped that wretched place and came back up to the surface, he found himself in the Red Tower, in my bedroom. Bedridden, I lay in deep recovery after my parents had wasted all my magical powers to bring together an army, essentially ripping my soul in pieces. The bloodlust of my family had left me barely conscious. That day, I woke to bright light shining in my eyes, sunlight reflecting from the symbol of the Raven Queen on Jael’s chest. I saw the sad eyes of a Deva before me, I’d never met one before, his skin color was unnerving, and there was blood spattered on his face. He whispered to me that my father had been killed and he was endlessly sorry for my loss. Then he added, I should not pity him for death is the natural way, we all will die someday. He had no idea how relieved I was to hear my father was dead and could no longer torture me as he had for so long, he genuinely felt sorry for me. Seconds later, he kissed me on the cheek, and ran out of the tower, guards chasing after. For years after that, he followed my story, asking all Tieflings he saw for news of me. He worried while I was in the Underdark, he cried for my orphaned heart when my mother died, he prayed to the Raven Queen for my safekeeping. So when years later we met again, our relationship was so easy, so natural as if we’d known each other for many lifetimes. I learned from him how to love without familial obligation. For that, I will be forever indebted to him. Unfortunately, it was our love, and his need to protect me that led to his eventual demise. His death could be something we grieve, but I know he is with the Raven Queen. He came to me in a dream before his soul left this plane and said he was to be with her forever. He’d finally broken the cycle of reincarnation every to which every Deva is subjected. He has moved onto a better place and level of existence. That being said, we could mourn our own loss, or we could celebrate his triumph over circumstances. So let’s raise a glass to our dear friend, and his final lifetime on this world!

History of the Dragon Gods

As the sayter recall the tale- Part I
During the age that the stars were being birthed and Chauntea’s giants were pushing up the mountains, the children witnessed a shining light come down to Dao tyr.
For it was the brilliance of Io and how we sang.
In the endless immortal wilds, Io dwelt laughing and passed on its light to six children named Hlal, Garyx, Faluzure, Aasterinian, Chronepsis, and Astilabor.
With thanx and joy for being alive they in turn created bests of hand, hoof, fin, wing, scale and shell.
It is said that for eons Io shone joy apon the young world.
That is untill Davinn GelNaughcht, father of the Faykin, presented to Io “The Great Game”.
Giving it as the wilds greatest treasure.
Io had nver known such a thing and understood not the nature of the game that had been created.
Obsessed with this new thing, Io began to change.
Duality had been created for the first time.
Winner loser, life death, night and day, good and evil, all were born out of the knowlege gleened by the great game.
Alas it was this same knowlege that split great Io into two equal parts, the gods we know as Tiamat and Bahamuut.
They were the first gods to walk on Dao tyr and they brought joy and sorrow, gave us our blood and tears and forever changed the fey and the world we live in.
